Questo “Lore”, termine gaelico che significa passaggio di conoscenza di generazione in generazione, è il frutto dell'esperienza Laphroaig di più di 200 anni. Single Malt Scotch whisky decisamente torbato, contiene whisky invecchiati tra i 7 e i 21 anni, e viene fatto maturare in botti ex-Bourbon ed ex-Sherry Oloroso. Nel bicchiere rivela un colore caldo come l'oro e un aroma fresco. Il fumo di torba è delicato, così come è sottile la nota tipica marina. Per il resto richiami di mela, caramello, miele e agrumi. Poi sentori di cioccolato e vaniglia. Whisky di buon corpo, in bocca richiama le sensazioni di torba percepite in precedenza, con sentori di carne affumicata, vaniglia e rovere. Whisky da meditazione, va bevuto liscio. Può essere eventualmente diluito con qualche goccia di acqua per riuscire a cogliere meglio tutte le sfumature del suo complesso bouquet. Ottimo anche in abbinamento a un pezzetto di cioccolato extra fondente.
